Green Halloween
By Wendy Mundy
Well hope you all had a great weekend. Since I live in Canada we where busy eating Turkey and other great food. Of course the next big Holiday, and it should be, is Halloween. I was at a local big store(starts with a 'W') to change the kids costumes (wrong size) and I couldn't get over the amount of stuff you can now buy...I think it's worse the Christmas! When I was a teenager I always had a party, I made most of my own decoration. The best was fake cobwebs (today you just buy them but not then, didn't exist) Mom and I took an old pillow filled with rayon and strecthed it out every so slowly...wow it looked so real. Today though the fibers in the stuff you buy are to short to get that real cobweb affect. You might want to try the old fashion way for cobwebs a spider would be proud of. I was over on a friend page to day, Susan Carrol,(http://susancarrollhome.com) and she has some really cute recycling projects ideas to do for Halloween. YOu should check out her site to see the cute bats. I think most kids four and up could do these crafts. Well I'm off. Have a super week and remember to Go Green one step at a time! |
